Radio Frequency IDentification system RFID Ositrack.


The engineers from Actemium and Schneider-electric came up with a revolutionary method to monitor stacked trays. These RFID array installations enable the S&S Systems build warehouse visualisation and logging system (WV&LS) "Vision" to record all events within 16 picking stations by accessing the RFID arrays via their gateways.

Ositrack RFID array

In order to optimize the capacity and to minimize throughput time from the distribution centre in Venray, data about the handling time need to be available. To measure the events inside the 16 picking stations a new application of the Ositrack RFID system was invented.

 

In the Schneider-electric warehouse a special RFID network will be installed containing 16 arrays and a total of 112 RFID antenna's.

 

This RFID network will be one of the four different networks connected to the S&S Systems Vision Server.

 

The RFID system, together with data from SAP, PLC and the warehouse terminals will build a status picture of the warehouse.

In the lab test we build the software to directly access the gateways over the ModBus over Ethernet protocol under Java.

  • A tray (RFID tag) is currently in front of the antenna.
  • The last detected tray (RFID tag) number.

The utility of the Ositrack RFID system displayed above is a pilot project for industrial applications.

Besides this new application, the Ositrack RFID system is a proven technology in other fields.
